Level 1A Full Certification Class (Blue Card) Erosion & Sediment Control

Description

State law requires that at least 1 representative from the Primary Permittee, each Secondary Permittee, and each Tertiary Permittee involved in the land disturbance activity must be trained and certified. Whenever one of these Permittees is conducting a land disturbance activity, a “certified person” representing that Permittee must be present onsite at all times while the land disturbance activity is occurring. Certified Person is defined as someone with a Level 1-A Blue Card. The Level 1-A Fundamentals Class is a 1-day course designed to train contractors, builders, developers, site superintendents, grading and utility maintenance, and inspection of BMPs on site.


The seminar is taught by Kim Metcalf, an environmental scientist with a BS and MS degree in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia and holds many environmental certifications including Certified Environmental Auditor, Registered Environmental Manager, Level 1B Certified Erosion and Sedimentation Inspector, Level II Certified Erosion and Sedimentation Plan Designer, Level I &; Level II Erosion Trainer with the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. She also is a Certified Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control (CPESC).

Lunch will be provided.

This session qualifies under the rules of the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors for eight (8) continuing education credit hours.
