Thursday, February 8, 2024 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (EST)
Description
There’s guidelines…and then there’s law. How do you make them work together for your business? Under Georgia law, every builder must provide a written warranty. And in every warranty, the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines (RCPG) should be referenced as the cornerstone of performance. In this session, learn why these criteria are essential for both parties in evaluating completed projects and to see how RCPG criteria differ from certain mandated codes and standards. Participants in this session will have a full understanding what is required by Georgia law. Don't wait until you need this information. Just like your continuing education credits, the state of Georgia says, 'It's the Law!' Each participant receives a Residential Contraction Performance Guidelines as part of the materials in the class. Facilitator Tom Gotschall is a partner in Construction Arbitration Associates in Alpharetta. Tom is a seasoned arbitrator and a dynamic instructor and speaker on a host of construction topics. He has certifications in the Residential Code and the Building Code, he was part of the team that updated the NAHB Construction Contracts and Law course, and he is certified to teach numerous NAHB classes. Tom graduated from Georgia Tech in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and has a background in general contracting and construction & real estate dispute resolution. This session qualifies under the Rules of the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors for three (3) continuing education hours. Sign in begins at 8:30 a.m. A 48-hour written notice is required for ALL cancellations -- NO REFUNDS FOR NO-SHOWS.Images
